Besides, the virus is a leading cause of <strong>infectious mononucleosis (IM)<\/strong> and is associated with different subtypes of <strong>lymphoma, sarcoma, and carcinomas<\/strong>, <strong>such as Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and gastric carcinoma<\/strong>. However, despite years of research and studies, the actual reason behind EBV-linked cancers remains unclear. In most people, the primary infection occurs in childhood and remains asymptomatic. However, nearly <strong>50%<\/strong> of cases that occur during adolescence and early adulthood lead to infectious mononucleosis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>As per the latest \u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.delveinsight.com\/report-store\/epstein-barr-virus-ebv-epidemiology-forecast\"><strong>Epstein\u2013Barr Virus Epidemiology<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u201d report by DelveInsight, in 2021, the total diagnosed incident cases of EBV-IM was more than 1.1 million in the 7MM. Additionally, several reasons, including growing transplant activities, immunosuppressive drugs, improved diagnosis, and awareness, have led to a significant rise in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delveinsight.com\/report-store\/post-transplant-lymphoproliferative-disorder-market\">PTLD patients<\/a> over the last two decades.
