Using a conservative definition, it is estimated that millions of people of all ages and all ethnic backgrounds suffer from respiratory disorders. These disorders are the leading cause of death in the United States. According to WHO respiratory disorders lead to million deaths worldwide, representing 1% of the total global disease burden.
