Being <strong>the most predictable disease, around 30% to 70% of the travelers are found to suffer from it.<\/strong> <strong>TD<\/strong> is defined as unformed stools in 24 hours accompanied by at least 1 of the following: <strong>fever, nausea, vomiting, cramps, tenesmus, or bloody stools (dysentery),<\/strong> in a traveler from a developed country visiting a less developed country. It is usually <strong>a benign self-limited illness lasting 3 to 5<\/strong> days (mean 3.6 days). It is not that serious but repulsive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Traveler\u2019s Diarrhea<\/strong> <strong>Etiology<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Travelers\u2019 diarrhea is caused by a variety of pathogens but the most common bacteria is found in food and water, often related to poor hygiene practices in local restaurants. <strong><em>Enterotoxigenic<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Escherichia coli<\/em><\/strong> (ETEC) accounting for 30% of the cases and other bacteria causing Traveler\u2019s diarrhea are the species of<em> Campylobacter <g class=\"gr_ gr_12 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling\" id=\"12\" data-gr-id=\"12\">jejuni<\/g>, Shigella<\/em>, and <em>Salmonella<\/em>. <strong>Norovirus<\/strong> and <strong>rotavirus<\/strong> are the most common viral cause and <strong>Giardia <g class=\"gr_ gr_13 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling\" id=\"13\" data-gr-id=\"13\">intestinalis<\/g><\/strong>\u00a0is one of the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>parasitic source.<br>TD results in some of the unpleasant symptoms like loose stools, mild cramps, vomiting, nausea, fever, and bloody diarrhea.
