Cancer In The United States(Vol 1, Issue 2)
US Cancer Statistics show that more than half a million suffer from this disease, which is the second leading cause of death in the country. The newsletter Cancer in the US substantiates the increasing incidence and prevalence of significant cancer subtypes in the American patient population, drawing conclusions related to the seriousness of the matter. This edition further points out to the top-selling cancer drugs in the country and how new and innovative therapies are being researched to limit the devastating impact of this debilitating disease.
Cancer is a significant public health concern worldwide and is the second leading cause of death in the United States, says ACS journal. Cancer has many forms through which it afflicts people; however, four types of cancer claim most lives in America.
The most common types of prevailing cancer in the USA are breast cancer, followed by lung cancer, prostate cancer and colorectal cancer. As per estimates, around 271,270 new people were diagnosed with Breast cancer in the United States in 2019.
However, the analysis of the Cancer epidemiological trends by the American Cancer Society revealed a drop in the mortality rate due to cancer. The reduction in death rate could be due to increased awareness among people, better lifestyle habits and a better understanding of the tumour and its treatment.
