The year 2016, around 48.5 million Americans older than 12 years, reported to be actively abusing prescription opioids or involved in illicit drug use, says CDC drug surveillance report. The toll has been increasing and is almost impossible to ignore. It is disheartening to note that between the period between 1999 and 2016 rose the wave of deaths due to drug overdose with approximately 6,30,000 people reported to have died due to it.
