Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and fatigue. It occurs when the communication between nerve cells and muscles is disrupted. This impairment prevents critical muscle contractions from occurring, resulting in muscle weakness. This disease is associated with antibodies directed against the acetylcholine receptor, muscle-specific kinase (MUSK), lipoprotein-related protein 4 (LRP4), or agrin in the postsynaptic membrane at the neuromuscular junction.
